A tale of two performing arts spaces

The provincial government is pumping half a million into the LSPU Hall in St. John's.

There is nothing to indicate that the provincial government is holding out for Ottawa to kick in its share.

This may or may not be related to the fact that St. John's is not in Labrador.

In a half attention state the other morning I thought I heard Craig Westcott, on CBC radio, in a commentary about Government spending targets or some such. What did hit me was he alluded to Labrador as being the recipient of gobs of Provincial cash. Ha ha ha, that Craig.

Gobs?

When you make your gobs completely conditional on someone else kicking in gobs, you haven't given anything, much less gobs.

Craig Westcott should ask Danny why the Labrador money is conditional, but the LSPU Hall money isn't. If Westcott were a journalist, he'd ask that; but he's not, so he won't.
