His Name is Our Name too

The trend towards personifying the government in Him, quantified.

This chart shows the total number of provincial government press releases, by year, as unearthed by Google, which contain the phrase "Williams government" or "Williams administration". False positives are excluded from the count.

And before anyone asks — there do not seem to have been any instances of the Wells, Tobin, or Grimes government, in the internet era, having referred to themselves, while in office, as "Wells government", "Tobin administration", etc.

And to the wag who pointed it out, yes, it does look like an exponential growth curve, doesn't it? An eyeball estimate is that the amount of Personallissimo is roughly tripling every year, so that in 2008, if current trends hold, between 350 and 400, or about 1/3 of the total government press releases, will personify the provincial government in His name.
