Giving and taking credit

In a year-end interview with the Ministry of Truth, Our Dear Premier gives, as one of his supposed accomplishments on Aboriginal issues:
Finally signing the Nunatsiavut government self-government agreement. However, I can't take credit for that, 'coz a lot of that work, most of that work, was done by predecessors, and I just happened to be the right person in the right place at the right time.
He can't take credit for it, but he won't let that stop him.

Just like ODP has been balancing the budget with the billions coming in from all those "giveaways" that "predecessors" did all of the work on — including the signature piece.

and you forgot "have status" which:

a. the current administration didn't have anything to do with; and,

b. which might disappear if on March 1, they opt for O'Brien and become an Equalization receiving provincial government again.
