TPG disappointed

Winston Smith makes an observation:
First, in the initial media coverage, the Tely stood out as the most DW-focused. Not even VOCM framed the story as all about Danny.
But, you see, Winston, The Provincial Government's The Provincial Press Release states:

The Provincial Government is deeply disappointed that the Leader of the Newfoundland and Labrador Nurses’ Union is recommending the rejection of government’s lucrative and generous offer, which would have avoided a province-wide strike and negatively impacted patients. The province made substantial improvements to the original offer to nurses, for a total package worth an additional $70 million to the province’s approximately 5,000 nurses.

"From day one in this lengthy process, union leadership has stated that pay and recruitment and retention are priority areas of concern and we have offered an extremely generous package to address those issues," said the Honourable Danny Williams, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador.

All the Telegram is doing is applying the political commutative principle:

The Province = The Provincial Government

The Provincial Government = The Williams Government

The Williams Government = Danny Williams

And, lest you have forgotten, Danny Williams represents, in his heart and soul, the hearts and souls of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.

If the story is about the province, its people, or its government, it's about Danny.

And, applying the commutative principle, if Danny is disappointed, whether you realize it or not, whether you agree or not, so are you.

Come to think of it, yes, I was feeling rather disappointed today.

Any word on how long this official emotion will last?
